Senior Nutrition Program
The purpose of the Senior Nutrition Program is to reduce hunger, to promote socialization of older individuals, and to promote the health and well-being of older individuals. Nutrition services assist such individuals to gain access to nutrition and other disease prevention and health promotion services to delay the onset of adverse health conditions resulting from poor nutritional health or sedentary behavior. A home-delivered meal is one that is provided to a qualified individual in their place of residence that meets all of the requirements of the OAA and state and local laws.
The Senior Nutrition Program is a well-check program as well, so no meals will be left at the doorstep or with a support person. Completion of the WV SAEF Form is required as well as a home visit to verify that the senior is qualified.
Family Service-Upper Ohio Valley is the designated Senior Center in Ohio County, WV and is a proud member of Meals on Wheels! Donations to assist seniors in need to reduce food insecurity are always appreciated.
